Marie Lambin-Gagnon is a visual artist, choreographer, and dancer whose practice blends dance, photography, textiles, and installation. Among her notable projects, she collaborated with Sara Cwynar on Red Film, presented at the São Paulo Biennale (2018), the MoMA, and the Montreal Museum of Contemporary Art. In 2019, she was commissioned by the Toronto Dance Theatre for Slow Dance, which earned her a nomination for the Dora Mavor Moore Award. In 2020, she created Slow Death for the Art Gallery of Ontario, combining found objects, electronic music, textiles, and Baroque paintings; the work was later presented at the Furies Festival (2022).
Her recent commissions include Confluence for The Bentway and Body/Landscape for Toes for Dance and the Toronto Biennale. She also presented Still Life as part of the launch of Dance Made in Canada’s new Haute Couture program, co-presented with the SummerWorks Festival and The Citadel/Ross Canter for Dance.
In August 2025, she presented Bolero, a short piece, at Cabaret Dada organized by the Phenomena Festival in Montreal. She is also collaborating with Louise Bédard on a new solo, which premiered at the Festival des Faubourgs in Montreal. Additionally, she presented an excerpt of her new creation Les Montagnes, a commission from the Art Gallery of Ontario, at their Art Bash 2025 event.
