Commissionned by Toronto Dance Theatre, Slow Dance is an exploration of the cohesive relationship between the body and material object to offer alternative forms for the viewer to consider. Slow Dance develops a relational approach to choreography in which dancers and objects animates one another equally. At times, they appear as extensions of one another; at other moments their singularities are heightened. The work extends choreography beyond the human body as an investigative inquiry into the movement of objects normally considered "inanimate."
